When it comes to the significant months of Islam the four months of, Zul Qadah, Zul Hijjah, Muharram and Rajab are most important. According to the Islamic principles any good deed done in the month of Zul Hijjah is compensated with the multiplied blessings and sins done in the month are punished with multiplied intensity. All Muslims should start performing prayers, especially in the first ten days of Zul Hijjah because it can make them completely pious.
The significance of Zul Hijjah in Islam can be demonstrated by the words of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) of Allah, He said: “There is no virtuous deed carried out in any day of the year that can be equal to the reward of (that virtuous deed) carried out in these ten days of Zul Hijjah”.
If a person is planning of earning blessings for performing prayers on Layla-tul-Qadaer, then he should perform the prayers for him or herself in the initial ten nights of the holy month of Zul Hijjah.
In one of the Hadiths Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) mentioned that anyone who worships Almighty Allah, especially on the following nights:
The night Tarwiya i.e. eighth of Zul Hijjah,
The night of Arafah i.e ninth of Zul Hijjah,
The night of narh, tenth of Zul Hijja,
The night of Eid ul Fitr and
The night of the fifteenth of Shabaan,
The Jannah will become compulsory for him or her.
Fasting on the ninth of Zul Hijjah or first day of Arafat is Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s Sunnah for those who are not dressed in the Ihram. This fast is equal in importance to the one year’s fast. Fasting in Zul Hijjah will also erase two years sins from the person’s life. Therefore, it is important to perform worship during the first ten days of Zul Hijjah.
